This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("User", "you") and Redbeard Systems ("Redbeard", "we", "us") for the use of Kompas, including the Outlook add-in, web application, and any related services (collectively, the "Software"). By installing, accessing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
Redbeard grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to the terms of this Agreement and any applicable subscription plan.
You may not:
The Software requires authentication through your Microsoft 365 account via OAuth2. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must have the right to access the mailbox you connect to the Software.
New accounts receive a one-time trial with 5 email generations in total, valid for 30 days from the first successful Microsoft-verified sign-in, plus one initial writing-style analysis. There is no monthly refill and no automatic paid conversion. A paid subscription starts only when you explicitly purchase it.
The allowance is reserved immediately before contacting AI. Once reserved, the attempt stays used even if the request fails, times out or is interrupted before a response arrives, including a server interruption between reservation and transmission. Invalid input, expired Microsoft tokens and other preflight failures do not use an allowance. The initial analysis can process English and Dutch once each, within bounded input and output limits. A failed AI analysis is not automatically refunded or repeatable for free. Signing in again, reinstalling, changing organization or deleting a style profile does not renew the trial. Existing accounts are not automatically enrolled.
The Software is offered under the introductory trial above and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis as described at the time of purchase. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Redbeard reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
The Software accesses email data through Microsoft Graph and sends relevant inputs to the AI backend to analyse your writing style and generate drafts. Kompas stores writing-style profiles and rules, saved signatures, account and session information, preferences, usage and trial records, and applicable subscription, access-entitlement, audit and feedback records. Our full data practices are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this Agreement.
The Software uses artificial intelligence to analyze writing patterns and generate email text. You acknowledge and agree that:
The Software relies on third-party services including Microsoft Graph API and AI processing providers. These services are subject to their own terms and conditions. Redbeard is not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of third-party services. Temporary interruptions to these services may affect the Software's functionality.
The Software, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by Redbeard and is protected by intellectual property laws. This Agreement does not grant you any ownership rights in the Software. Your writing style profile belongs to you; you may request its deletion at any time.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. REDBEARD DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. REDBEARD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REDBEARD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. REDBEARD'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Redbeard from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Software, your violation of this Agreement, or your violation of any third party's rights.
This Agreement is effective until terminated. Redbeard may terminate or suspend your access at any time if you breach this Agreement. You may terminate by discontinuing use and uninstalling the Software. Upon termination, your license to use the Software ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Redbeard may update this Agreement from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Software or via email. Your continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Software.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Redbeard regarding the Software.
